Care & Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate Care & Support Worker to support tenants at Moorview House to live fulfilling, independent and safe lives.

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Location: Moorview House, The Fed, Prestwich, Manchester
Hours: 30 hours per week worked over 4 days , worked over weekends 8am-2pm / 2pm-8pm and a day in the week
 

About the role

As a Care & Support Worker at Moorview House, you will be part of The Fed’s team providing person-centred care and support to people with a range of health and social care needs.

Your focus will be on helping tenants maintain their independence, feel safe and included, and have opportunities to live fulfilling lives while always protecting their dignity and individuality.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality personal care and support with daily living activities
  • Working in accordance with individual care plans
  • Recognising when tenants may need additional support
  • Helping people overcome barriers and access new experiences and opportunities
  • Prompting or administering medication in line with policies and care plans
  • Completing Medication Administration Records accurately
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records
  • Supporting laundry and other day-to-day household tasks
  • Responding appropriately in emergency situations
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults and reporting concerns
  • Following health and safety, COSHH and infection prevention procedures
  • Building positive relationships with tenants, colleagues and the wider team

Training and development are an important part of the role, and you will be expected to participate in mandatory training, supervision, staff meetings and ongoing development.

About you

You will be kind, compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to providing person-centred support.

You will be reliable, respectful and non-judgemental, with the patience and confidence to support people who may sometimes present behaviours that can be challenging.

You should be able to recognise when a situation needs to be escalated, communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.

A relevant NVQ in Health and Social Care is specified within the person specification.
