We are seeking a passionate and creative Chef to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that enhance the dining experience for residents in a welcoming care setting.

Position: Chef
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Location: Leicester, Leicestershire
Hours: 24 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Part Time

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef to join a dedicated care team, creating enjoyable and nutritious meals for residents with a range of dietary requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and cooking high-quality meals to a consistently high standard
  • Catering for a variety of dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and diabetic diets
  • Creating nutritious and visually appealing pureed meals
  • Planning balanced and varied menus in collaboration with colleagues
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
  • Managing stock levels and supporting food ordering processes
  • Ensuring allergens are carefully managed and dietary requirements are met
  • Building positive relationships with residents to understand their preferences and feedback
  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver an excellent dining experience
  • Continually seeking ways to improve meal quality, presentation and resident satisfaction

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally within a care, healthcare or similar environment
  • Knowledge of specialist dietary requirements and nutritional needs
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A creative approach to menu planning and food presentation
  • Experience preparing meals that are both nutritious and appealing
