We are looking for a Financial Accounts Assistant to join the team!

Position: VAC0127 Financial Accounts Assistant

Location: London/Hybrid

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £28,416.42 pa plus travel to work allowance up to £3,800 pa

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Contributory pension scheme; generous travel to work allowance; 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays per annum, café discount.

About the Role

In brief, this role involves:

• The reconciliation of the SAITCO bank accounts on a weekly/monthly basis, including GBP, US$ and Euro Petty cash accounts.
• Reviewing inventory balances against records held by the relevant departments.
• Preparing journals for Accruals, Prepayments and Provisions
• Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly VAT return to HMRC.
• Assisting with the processing of transactions for the Global Salvation Army world, through a ‘Memo to the Accountant ‘ (MTA) mechanism within the finance system.
• Providing support with monitoring and managing of the IHQ accounts mailbox.
• Answering queries relevant to your role received in the IHQ-Accounts.
• Working as part of the Accounts Team to ensure that the overall aims and objectives are achieved.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• AAT Level 2 or above, or currently studying for an accountancy degree, or pursuing ACCA/CIMA qualifications.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Familiarity with accounting software (NetSuite experience is desirable).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and support colleagues across departments.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
