Not For Profit People are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading national charity supporting early years providers across the UK. This organisation plays a vital role in championing high quality early education and care, offering training, resources, and sector wide support to help nurseries deliver the best outcomes for children.

They are now seeking an experienced LMS Technical Support Specialist to take ownership of their Moodle based Learning Management System and ensure a seamless, secure, and engaging experience for learners and administrators.

About the Role

As the LMS Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimisation of the organisation’s Moodle platform. You’ll ensure the LMS is performing at its best, implementing updates, managing integrations, and supporting users across the organisation.

You will work closely with the IT team and wider stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, deliver new functionality, and enhance the overall learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation, configuration, and maintenance of the Moodle LMS, including content updates and routine code maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability and security.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, including course access issues, completion tracking, and system errors.
  • Manage a range of learning resources including SCORM, xAPI, H5P, video, and assessments.
  • Run and monitor PHP/system scripts, review logs, remediate failures, and optimise performance.
  • Produce tailored reports on learner activity, completion rates, and assessment outcomes.
  • Support bulk user uploads, enrolment processes, password resets, and routine system audits.
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance with organisational and data protection requirements.
  • Assess new Moodle features, plugins, and updates to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the e learning team with course setup, resource uploads, and activity configuration.
  • Oversee system updates, patches, and version upgrades.
  • Ensure the LMS meets organisational policies, security standards, and GDPR compliance.

About You

You will bring strong technical expertise and hands on experience supporting enterprise level LMS platforms, ideally Moodle. You’ll be confident managing system configuration, troubleshooting issues, and supporting users with a wide range of technical queries.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience administering and supporting an LMS in an academic, corporate, or training environment.
  • Strong understanding of LMS architecture, user roles, permissions, and integrations.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, and SQL for troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with SCORM/xAPI standards and e learning content packaging.
  • Experience producing custom reports and dashboards.
  • Track record of managing LMS upgrades, patches, and testing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non technical users.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Teams, and Power BI.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting course creators and trainers with Moodle tools.
  • Experience integrating Moodle with external systems such as CRM or reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of authoring tools such as Evolve, Adobe Captivate, or Articulate Rise 360.
  • Understanding of data security best practice and API integrations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a mission driven organisation making a real difference to children, families, and early years providers across the UK. You’ll play a key role in shaping and enhancing their digital learning environment, working with a supportive and collaborative team.
