Purchasing Administrator – Manufacturing
We are seeking an organised Purchasing Administrator to manage day-to-day purchasing, stock and supplier requirements within a busy manufacturing environment.

Hours: 40.5 hours per week – 8am–5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am–3pm Friday

About the role
This is a varied purchasing and administration role within a busy manufacturing environment, with a particular focus on consumables, stock levels, supplier coordination and supporting the smooth running of production.
Working as part of a small office team, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring essential consumables, equipment and services are ordered and available when required. You’ll also support wider operational activities, including maintenance and general production requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Purchasing and replenishing consumables used across manufacturing and production
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring essential items are reordered in good time
- Raising and processing purchase orders
- Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery times
- Booking in deliveries and checking orders against requirements
- Resolving shortages, incorrect deliveries and supplier queries
- Purchasing equipment and services required by the production team
- Maintaining accurate purchasing, stock and supplier records
- Supporting the organisation of maintenance and repairs for plant and machinery
- Helping coordinate waste disposal and other operational requirements
- Providing general administrative support across the office when needed
About you
We’re ideally looking for someone with purchasing, procurement, stock control or supply chain experience gained within manufacturing, automotive, engineering, production or a similar environment. However if you have strong administration experience still apply!
You’ll be organised and comfortable managing a high volume of smaller, often time-sensitive purchases. Strong attention to detail is important, alongside the confidence to build good relationships with suppliers and chase orders when necessary.
You’ll also need good Microsoft Office and database skills and, as part of a small team, be happy to get involved and help colleagues wherever needed.
About the organisation
You’ll be joining an established manufacturing business with a small, supportive office team working closely with production. It’s a practical environment where people work together across purchasing, maintenance, training and general production support.
The factory operates a shutdown holiday system, with much of the annual leave taken during planned summer, Christmas and Easter shutdown periods. Remaining holiday is available as floating days.
