Make a difference through meaningful relationships

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, welcoming charity where everyone plays their part, ideas are encouraged and there is no traditional hierarchy. It's very much an all-hands-on-deck environment, where people support one another, get stuck in and work together towards a shared purpose.

The organisation is looking for someone who is passionate about building relationships and making a difference. Whether you already have experience in fundraising, partnerships or supporter engagement, or you're looking to develop your skills and would benefit from further training, they are keen to hear from you.

The opportunity

As Relationship Fundraiser, you'll play an important role in developing and nurturing relationships with individual supporters, donors, community fundraisers, corporate partners and volunteers.

You'll help grow sustainable income by delivering excellent supporter care, encouraging fundraising activity and identifying new opportunities to engage with potential supporters and partners.

The role will be varied, hands-on and rewarding, giving you the opportunity to make a genuine contribution to a small charity with a meaningful cause.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, supporters, community fundraisers and corporate partners.
  • Deliver excellent supporter care through personalised communications, thank-you messages and regular updates.
  • Support and encourage individuals and groups with their fundraising activities.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new partnerships, sponsorships and community fundraising initiatives.
  • Help coordinate trust and grant fundraising activity.
  • Recruit, support and encourage fundraising volunteers.
  • Plan and support fundraising events and supporter gatherings.
  • Maintain accurate supporter and donation records, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Support marketing and communications by sharing fundraising stories, updates and campaign content.
  • Work closely with the Chief Executive and wider team to support the charity's ongoing development.

About you

We're interested in people with the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to get involved.

You might already have experience in fundraising, partnerships, relationship management or community engagement. Alternatively, you may be looking for an opportunity to step into the charity sector and develop your experience, with training and support available.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly, approachable and empathetic manner.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and engage with a variety of people.
  • A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach.
  • Confidence managing your own workload and juggling different priorities.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using databases and Microsoft Office.

Previous charity or fundraising experience would be beneficial, but the organisation is open to someone with transferable skills and the enthusiasm to learn.

What's on offer?

This is a lovely opportunity to join a genuinely friendly, small charity where people work collaboratively, and everyone is valued.

  • Flexible working hours: The organisation is very accommodating and understands the importance of flexibility around working arrangements.
  • Supportive environment: A welcoming, down-to-earth team.
  • Training and development: Open to candidates who are keen to learn and develop their fundraising or partnership skills.
  • Varied role: The opportunity to get involved in different areas of fundraising and make a real impact.
  • Part-time hours: 15 hours per week, with flexibility around how these are arranged.
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata).

Whether you're an experienced fundraiser or someone looking to take their first step into the sector, this could be a brilliant opportunity.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your relevant experience and why you're interested in the opportunity.

Accessibility note: The organisation's offices are based in the crypt of a listed building in South Kensington. Please be aware that there is no lift access and entry to the offices involves climbing one flight of external concrete stairs.

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis, so we encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out on this opportunity.
