Young People Support Worker
We are seeking caring, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to support young people on activity breaks, holidays and trips across the UK and overseas.
Position: Young People Support Worker
Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £620 per trip plus expenses covered
Hours: Flexible, ad hoc work including weekends, evenings and holidays
Contract: Part time
This is a rewarding and hands on opportunity to support young people through a variety of activities, short breaks and holidays. You will help create positive experiences that encourage independence, confidence, social inclusion and enjoyment in a safe and supportive environment.
No two trips are the same. One weekend could involve supporting a UK activity break, while another may involve helping young people enjoy an overseas holiday or day trip. This role would suit someone energetic, adaptable and passionate about making a difference.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting young people during activities, holidays and short breaks
- Encouraging independence, confidence and participation
- Providing practical and emotional support when required
- Helping create safe, enjoyable and memorable experiences
- Working closely with a supportive and experienced team
- Promoting the wellbeing and safety of the young people supported
- Supporting young people to engage in social and recreational activities
We are looking for dependable and compassionate individuals who enjoy working with young people and thrive as part of a team. Previous experience within care, support or youth work is helpful but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
You will ideally have:
- A caring, patient and positive approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to support different trips and activities
- The ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations
- A full UK driving licence
- A genuine passion for helping young people thrive and enjoy new experiences
