About the role

Are you looking for flexible work where every shift gives you the opportunity to make a difference?

Join a supportive frontline team providing practical and emotional support to people facing homelessness, housing insecurity and complex life challenges. Multiple opportunities are available across Greater Manchester, offering the chance to gain experience across different services.

You could be supporting young people leaving care, unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, or individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance misuse and recovery needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusted relationships with individuals, offering compassionate and consistent support.
  • Helping people develop independence, confidence and the skills to manage everyday life.
  • Providing practical and emotional support tailored to individual needs and goals.
  • Contributing to safe, welcoming and supportive service environments.
  • Working with colleagues and partner organisations to help people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Please indicate your preferred location in your application or supporting statement. Flexibility to work across different services would be advantageous.

About you

You will be compassionate, resilient and motivated by helping people move forward with their lives. Comfortable adapting to different situations, you will bring a calm, people-focused approach and the ability to build positive relationships.

You will have:

  • An understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness or other difficult circumstances.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
  • A commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect.
  • A flexible approach to working across services and supporting people with different needs.

Whether you are an experienced support worker or looking to broaden your frontline experience, this could be a rewarding next step.

About the organisation

This homelessness charity provides accommodation, prevention and support services to marginalised young people. Its work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

You will join a close-knit team committed to helping people build more secure and independent futures.

The organisation welcomes applications from all backgrounds. An appropriate DBS check will be carried out where required. A criminal record will not automatically prevent you from being considered.

Other roles you may have experience of could include Support Worker, Housing Support Worker, Homelessness Support Worker, Youth Support Worker, Project Worker, Relief Support Worker or Residential Support Worker. #INDSCP
