The Role

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Fundraising Manager will lead on the development, coordination and delivery of YMCA Worcestershire’s fundraising activity. This is a key role focused on securing sustainable income through fundraising, community engagement and corporate partnerships, while strengthening the organisation’s profile, messaging and stakeholder relationships across Worcestershire.

Working closely with colleagues and delivery teams, you will play a pivotal role in telling the YMCA Worcestershire story, evidencing the impact of its services and building strong relationships with funders, partners and the wider community.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering annual, events-led fundraising plans, including community fundraising, challenge events, campaigns and corporate-supported activities.
  • Planning, coordinating and delivering fundraising events that engage local communities, supporters, volunteers and corporate partners.
  • Leading fundraising campaigns and community-based initiatives to generate sustainable, unrestricted income.
  • Developing and growing corporate partnerships, including sponsorship, employee fundraising and cause-related marketing opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise income through events, ticket sales, sponsorship, donations and partnerships.
  • Supporting departmental teams to identify opportunities for partnerships, volunteers, in-kind support and donated resources.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with community stakeholders, local councils, social prescribing networks, community groups, faith organisations and statutory partners.
  • Acting as an ambassador for YMCA Worcestershire, promoting its values, services and impact within local communities.
  • Recruiting, engaging and supporting volunteers.
  • Monitoring fundraising income, budgets and return on investment, contributing to forecasting and reporting.
  • Recording and reporting on key performance data, outputs and outcomes.
  • Supporting the effective use of CRM and monitoring systems to evidence impact and inform service development.

Due to the nature of the role, evening and weekend work will be required to support fundraising events, community activities and meetings. These will be agreed in advance where possible.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience in fundraising, communications, community engagement or a related role.
  • Experience of delivering successful fundraising activity, particularly events, campaigns or community fundraising.
  • Experience of working with supporters, donors, volunteers or corporate partners.
  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating income-generating activity.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
  • The ability to plan, organise and successfully deliver fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and impact messaging.
  • Experience of managing budgets, monitoring income and assessing return on investment.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM or fundraising databases.
  • An understanding of community fundraising principles and events-based income generation.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, health and safety and risk management in relation to events and public-facing activities.

Experience of managing staff, volunteers or fundraising committees, developing corporate fundraising or sponsorship opportunities, and promoting fundraising events through digital or community channels would be advantageous.

To fulfil the role, you will need a clean driving licence and access to a car, as you will be required to access sites across Worcestershire and the surrounding area.
