Housekeeper

We are seeking a caring and reliable Housekeeper to help create a clean, safe and welcoming home for residents at The Fed.

Salary: £12.71 per hour
Location: Heathlands Village, Prestwich, Manchester
Hours: 27 hours per week (Monday 9am-2.30pm plus half hour unpaid break. Tuesday to Friday 9am – 3pm with half hour unpaid break)
 

About the role

As a Housekeeper at The Fed, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting people with a range of health and social care needs. Your work will play an important part in ensuring residents can enjoy a comfortable, clean and safe environment while maintaining their dignity and individuality.

Working to a daily schedule, you will carry out general housekeeping duties across residents’ rooms and shared areas, including:

• Making beds and cleaning residents’ rooms
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping
• Cleaning bathrooms, toilets, lounges, dining rooms, communal areas and offices
• Maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness
• Following infection prevention, COSHH and health and safety procedures
• Using equipment safely and appropriately
• Working sensitively around residents and respecting their privacy, dignity and choices

You will also need to be sensitive to the cultural and religious needs of Jewish residents and committed to supporting The Fed’s values.

About you

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and is friendly, positive and dependable.

You will be kind, compassionate and respectful, with the ability to work well as part of a team. Previous experience in a care home or working with older people would be beneficial, as would a relevant housekeeping or cleaning qualification.

Knowledge of dementia would be useful, although a willingness to learn is equally important. You will be expected to undertake mandatory training and continue developing your skills and knowledge.
