Team Leader - Children's Residential Care
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Team Leader to support children and young people in a residential care setting, helping them achieve positive outcomes in a safe and nurturing environment.
Position: Team Leader
Salary: £29,737.50 to £30,712.50 per annum plus £2,000 joining bonus
Location: Derby / Burton upon Trent
Hours: Full time, permanent
Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 4 days off
Additional Payments: £50 sleep-in payment and enhanced overtime available
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Residential Care Worker or Team Leader to join a children's residential care service supporting young people with complex needs.
Working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will help lead and support the staff team while ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered at all times. This is a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to Residential Care Workers
- Supporting the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of children and young people
- Building positive relationships with young people, families and professionals
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, inclusion and individual rights
- Acting as a role model and mentor to support staff
- Supporting the implementation of care plans and risk assessments
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Participating in shifts, sleep-ins and on-call duties where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
- Previous experience within children's residential care
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A caring, resilient and compassionate approach
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- A full UK driving licence
